Crypto Influencers Allegedly Weaponized Conspiracy to Exorcise QAnon Followers

Two QAnon-affiliated conspiracy theorist influencers allegedly caused millions of dollars in damages to their followers by running a cryptocurrency pump-and-dump scheme.

The pair reportedly persuaded thousands of their followers to invest in a portfolio of crypto that presented a deceptive mix of conspiratorial and anecdotal material, as well as institutions that claimed they generated hype. To support tokens and increase the value of the portfolio.

charges include a Investigation Logically, a group of data scientists and developers. It coordinated two influencers running the Telegram channels “Whiplash 347” and “Quantum Stellar Initiative” (QSI) to promote a list of Stellar (XLM) altcoins that have been flagged as fraudulent by the Stellar network.

WhipLash347 is a Telegram group with 277,000 followers and QSI has 35,000 followers. He reportedly told his followers that cryptocurrencies would be successful based on his insider knowledge, claiming he had access to secret military intelligence.

The publication said the two mixed conspiratorial material and misinformation targeting untrustworthy mainstream financial and media institutions to provide authenticity to the cryptocurrencies they promoted. Losses are believed to be in the millions, and one man committed suicide after losing $100,000 to the logistically claimed plan.

A user known as PatriotQakes leads the QSI main channel, which has several regional affiliates. WhipLash347 account ownership is believed to have changed recently due to changed behavior.

Rocky Morningside, a former administrator of the QSI group, told Logically that he believed “there is no doubt that WhipLash347, PatriotQakes and QSI are scam artists,” who were promoting “pump and dump.”

Cointelegraph requested a response to the allegations by PatriotQakes, an account that belonged to the person behind Whiplash347 and the administrator of a regional QSI group in relation to the allegations, but did not receive a response by the time of publication.

Neither group has publicly acknowledged or responded to the allegations.

A former investor in one of the schemes using the name “Cutter” now runs a Twitter account aimed at exposing WhipLash347. He told Cointelegraph that he is a member of a Telegram group along with 3000 other disgruntled investors and said of the person behind Whiplash 347:

“They have created a huge list of crypto with now defunct domains, as well as bogus white papers claiming to be affiliated with real companies. We have spoken to the real creators of so many coins that they are copying through fictitious assets. Who has to constantly tell people that Whiplash is full of shit.”

Cutter says Whiplash builds trust with his followers by sharing similar political views, perpetuating the plan by claiming “upcoming events” will skyrocket the value of the property.

According to Cutter, Whiplash responded to the claims by saying that all information is under non-disclosure agreements and that no one associated with the property is allowed to talk until “the incident.”

“There is always a timeline, but when the dates go by and nothing happens, he creates a new timeline. It never ends.”

He also apparently claimed to be in communication with figures like Elon Musk, and said that the crypto-friendly billionaire supports the cryptocurrency that Whiplash is promoting.

Cutter said that the person raising the question is thrown out of the group.

“Anyone who questions his story is removed from his Telegram group, and continues to rinse and repeat among his followers. New people join as soon as people leave. This needs to stop. Is.”
