The Delhi High Court has refused to stay the release of a film based on the life of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who passed away in June last year. film title Nyaya: The Justice Tomorrow is going to be released.

Late actor Sushant’s father Krishna Kishore Singh had filed a petition seeking a stay on the film’s release. He claimed that the film was shot without the consent of the family and was launched in a planned manner by the confidants of persons accused of a role in the actor’s death.

The petition was dismissed by a bench headed by Justice Sanjeev Narula, who also asked the filmmakers to keep an account.

In April, Krishna Singh filed a petition seeking to stop anyone from using his son’s name or likeness on the silver screen. At that time, the HC had asked the producers of various films—proposed and being shot and being filmed at the time—to respond to the petition filed by Singh.

The entire film industry, his fans and his family are deeply shocked by the death of Sushant. The case is currently being investigated by three national agencies including CBI, ED and NCB. After his death, several filmmakers announced films on his life.

In the petition, Rajput’s father mentioned the names of some films which include- Nyaya: Justice, Suicide or Murder: A star lost, Shashank, And an unnamed crowd-funded film. according to suit, justice To be released in June during the shooting of Suicide or Murder: A Star Was Lost and Moon started.

“The respondent (film makers), taking advantage of this situation, is trying to capitalize on this opportunity for a wrong purpose,” the plea said. Singh also sought damages of over Rs 2 crore from the filmmakers for “loss of reputation, mental trauma and harassment” to Rajput’s family.

The petition also claimed that if “film, web-series, book or any other material of a similar nature is allowed to be published or broadcast, it would affect the right of the victim and the deceased to free and fair trial”. because it would prejudice them”.
