Family Man fans think Arvind is real
Actor Sharad Kelkar, who plays Arvind in The Family Man, says people believe that Arvind is the real villain of the show. He credits the discourse for the power of writing, which he said engages fans.
In an interview, he said that people are also angry with Suchi, wife of protagonist Shrikant Tiwari, played by Manoj Bajpayee; And disappointed in Srikanth’s friend JK to support him. The Family Man also traces the crumbling marriage of Srikanth and Suchi, which is otherwise a spy thriller.
“Take Operation Zulfiqar in season one for example. So many people believed that Arvind was behind it. The assumptions are; why am I in the first place. ‘Ek Hai Terrorist’. All these assumptions were made in the last season. And that is the beauty of writing,” Sharad told Bollywood Hungama in an interview.
He said, “It is because of the show. People are involved and have evolved with the show. They are connected to the characters. If your audience is connected to you, it means your show is good.”
He said the reason Suchi behaved this way is because what happened between her and Arvind in Lonavala – which remains a mystery – coincides with their marital issues and professional dilemmas.
