The platform is scalable and can be used to manufacture a wide variety of motorcycles

Work on the Harley-Davidson Arrow EV operating system began 5 years ago

LiveWire, the EV division of Harley-Davidson, is the ‘Arrow’ platform that will be used to build the next generation of electric motorcycles in the future.

Taiwanese company Kimco has raised Rs. 750 crores on LiveWire as part of the new deal.

As you can see from the picture above, the EV platform is built around a large, structured lithium-ion battery pack that forms the basis of the chassis.

The battery pack can be up to 20 kWh unit

The electric motor, power electronics, steering headstock and its front suspension are bolted to the battery. Rear monoshock and swingarm are also attached to the unit.

The battery will have a maximum size of 21,700 format cells and can be cooled by air, liquid or air conditioning depending on usage. The voltage system in use may be 50 V or more than 400 V.

The on-board charger and inverter share a cooling circuit, which can be liquid or air-cooled, and also applies to a motor that is fully integrated with the chassis and suspension to improve space.

Harley claims that the electric motor with proprietary magnetism and direct drive design has increased power density (compared to the LiveWire One).

Harley-Davdison LiveWire Del Mar
Must be for an urban bike like the Del Mar Livewire One

Livewire currently sells 1 electric motorcycle under the name One. But the Harley-Davidson Arrow EV operating system will soon be used to make LiveWire S2 models.

The first bike to use the Arrow platform was called the Del Mar, and it would be middleweight if taken in the general context. The S2 models will be followed by S3-sized electric 2-wheelers, which will be lightweight engines.

Co-produced with Kymco, the LiveWire S3 models are designed to use the Taiwanese company’s replaceable batteries.

Finally, the LiveWire S4 heavyweight motorcycles will be introduced with an extended range (320km or 200 miles) and the latest charging capabilities.
