The latest generation model of the famous taxi for walking the streets of London, also known as LEVC TX, is now coming to India. TX maker London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) has partnered with Exclusive Motors, which is also a distributor of several other luxury brands in India. LEVC is owned by Chinese car maker Gili and is based in Coventry, UK.

According to LEVC, the new TX London cab which was first introduced in 2017. The cab is built using aluminum bonding technology, which makes it very light in weight and helps provide adequate driving range. Its style is mostly the same as the old model, its heck’s carriage bodystyle is easily recognizable.

But the company has also made some special changes in the new model, such as LED running lights in the front. The height of the new TX is 4,860mm, which is slightly higher than the previous model. Apart from this its length is also about 280 mm more. It is clear that there will be more space in the car. The rear door of the car can be opened up to 90 degrees and can seat a total of 6 people.

While the diesel engine was offered in the previous model, the new TX runs on a fully electric hybrid system. In this, the company has given Volvo’s 1.5 liter capacity 3 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that generates 81hp of power. The car has a 33kWh capacity battery pack, taken from LG Chem. The same company also supplies batteries to Hyundai for its electric vehicles, which have been used in models like the Hyundai Kona.

Satya Bagla, Managing Director, Exclusive Motors, said: “India is an emerging market for electric vehicles and there could not be a better time for LEVC to enter the country. Vehicle technology, aesthetics and practicality are to come.
