Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra told reporters on Thursday that the mobile phone and other devices the accused was using were also confiscated after his arrest on Wednesday. Earlier, the Indore Police Commissioner had announced a reward of Rs 5,000 for giving information about Rahul Navlani and his wife Disha for abetting Thakkar (29) to commit suicide. A lookout circular was also issued in the name of the couple.

On Sunday, Thakkar was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his house in Saibagh Colony of Indore city of Madhya Pradesh. Officials had earlier said that a five-page suicide note was recovered from the spot in which Thakkar had named Rahul Navlani for harassing her. Tejaji Nagar police station in-charge RD Kanwa told PTI, “Police teams were on the lookout for the couple and one such team was successful in arresting Rahul Navlani on Wednesday.” “Rahul was trying to escape from Indore, but was caught before he could do so,” the officer said. He said that he is being questioned regarding the doubts raised during the investigation of the case. Asked whether his wife has also been caught, Kanva said he was not aware of it.

State Home Minister Mishra said that the police is getting data from the gadgets seized from the arrested accused. He said that the data would be analyzed and action would be taken in the matter accordingly. Officials said the actress’ family members had earlier alleged that Navlani was harassing her.
