Mumbai Falcons 2022 Formula Regional Asian Drivers

The Mumbai Falcons will team up with Italian team Prema Racing in its second annual race at the Formula Regional Asian Championships.

Ferrari has confirmed that three members of its driving academy – Arthur Leklerk, Dino Beganovic and Oliver Bearman – will compete for the Mumbai team, the Mumbai Falcons, at the upcoming 2022 Formula Regional Asian Championships. They will be joined in part-time by Sebastian Montoya, son of former F1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya.

The Mumbai Falcons are competing in the 2022 Formula Regional Asian Championships

Earlier this year, the Mumbai Falcons announced the plan Bring the Formula One Regional Championship to India. Armaan Ibrahim, one of the key figures behind this new championship, will also serve as the team captain for Formula Regional Asia Outing. 16-year-old Arianna Kathok will serve as co-team captain.

The Mumbai Falcons will launch three cars with the support of Italian team Prema Racing. Mumbai Falcons Driver Row

Arthur Lecklerk, the younger brother of current Ferrari F1 driver Charles Lecklerk, is the most experienced driver in the line. The 21-year-old has a full F3 season under his belt, where he finished 10th overall. He also competed in the 2020 Formula Regional European Championships. Beganovic, meanwhile, will be competing in F3 Asia for the second year in a row. Both will compete in five rounds.

Oliver Bearman and Sebastian Montoya will split the time in the third car. German F4 and Italian F4 champions Bearman will advance to the final two rounds. It will be the F3 release of the 16-year-old’s first competition, but it will also be his first release as a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy. Montoya progresses from F4 to F3. He has competed in the German and Italian F4 Championships in the past. Both drivers are aiming to win the Rookie title.

The Mumbai Falcons report briefly states that the inaugural Formula Regional and Formula 4 Indian Championship has been postponed to November 2022. The two championships were originally scheduled to start at the end of February 2022.
