Sony has unveiled the second EV concept at the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

The Sony Vision-S 02 crossover SUV is a continuation of the Vision-S sedan concept introduced by Sony at CES two years ago. Although Sony has not confirmed that any vehicle is subject to production, the company does indicate that.

Sony is testing the prototype of the Vision-S sedan, and during its CES presentation on Wednesday the company said it would launch a new division called Sony Mobility this spring, specifically focusing on EV development.

Sony is not the only electronics company focusing on the EV industry. Foxconn, which assembles Sony’s PlayStation, enters the EV business, although there is no connection between the two companies in the EV development.

Foxconn released three “self-developed” EVs in October 2021 under its new Foxtron brand. The company has its own contract with Fischer to develop the $ 30,000 EV, and has a partnership with Lordstown Motors, which seeks to acquire the company’s former General Motors plant.
